From
the Washington DC area
Lost River is about 120 miles (2 1/2 hours) from Washington.
- Take I-66 West to I-81 South (towards Roanoke).
- Take I-81 south for about 2 miles.
- Take exit 296. (Note: If you want to stop in Strasburg to eat or visit
antique shops, take exit 298.Turn left on Route 11 and follow signs
into town.)
- Take Route 55 West about 20 miles to Wardensville, WV.
- Turn left on Route 259 South. (Drive slowly, Wardensville is a
speed trap!)
- Follow Route 259 South about 10 miles to Baker.
- Turn left on Route 259 South and go 7 miles to Lost River.
- When you see the United Methodist Church on the right, slow down.
Turn left into the Inn.
From
Harrisonburg, Virginia
Lost River is about one hour from Harrisonburg.
- From I-81 North, take exit 257 (Timberville, Broadway).
- Take Route 259 West to Timberville.
- At the traffic light across from Broadway Motors, turn left (on 259
West).
- Follow Route 259 to West Virginia.
- Pass through Mathias and Lost City.
- When you see the sign for Lost River, slow down. The Inn at Lost River
is on the right. Turn right into the driveway.
